Warren Baister will make his bow in the paid game next month.

The 29-year-old Sunderland puncher is set for a television appearance after it was confirmed that the card on which he will debut is live on Sky Sports.

Baister, who represented England in the 91kg category at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, is set for action on November 7 after turning over under Daniel Kinahan and MGM Marbella in June.

His first start in the pros will come on a multi-title card at Liverpool’s ECHO Arena, headlined by the all-Liverpool super middleweight showdown between Callum Smith and Rocky Fielding as they clash for the WBC Silver and vacant British titles.

“I’m delighted to get my professional career underway on such a big show in Liverpool,” said Baister, who is under the tutelage of Davey Binns in his home city.

“It will be headlined by [my] ex-Team GB mate Callum Smith.

“This is just the start and under the guidance of MGM management, I’m certain it will only get bigger and better.”

Elsewhere on the card, Ricky Burns is looking to get back into the title mix at lightweight when he takes on Josh King for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental belt, Scotty Cardle will defend his British lightweight title against Birkenhead’s Sean Dodd and Prizefighter champion Tom Doran, who campaigns at middleweight, will look to get a win to steer him to a domestic title shot.

The Connahs Quay man, 28, will face former managerial stablemate Rod Smith, who is unbeaten in seven, over 10 rounds in an eliminator for the British crown.

And new Matchroom signing Scott Fitzgerald, who joined the team recently, and Liverpool talent Ryan Mulcahy will both make their bows in the professional ranks, while Salford bantamweight Marc Leach (5-1) and 23-year-old Hackney man Ohara Davies are also set for action.

Tickets for ‘Who’s Fooling Who’, priced at £40, £60, £80, £100 and £150, are on sale now from the ECHO Arena website and on 0844 8000 400

VIP tickets, priced at £250, are available exclusively from Matchroom Boxing at www.matchroomboxing.com and on 01277 359900.
