This Saturday, following All Access: Mayweather vs. Maidana II, Showtime televises a card where Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse and Andre Berto all appear in separate bouts. There opponents are relatively unknown, but the matchups should make for some interesting fights.
Adrien Broner, 28-1 (22 KOs) headlines and looks to continue to get back on track in his second fight back since losing to Marcos Maidana. His opponent is the relatively unknown Emmanuel Taylor, 18-2 (12 KOs). Emmanuel Taylor has some skills; he had a close fight with Chris Algieri and is coming off a victory against Karim Mayfield, so the matchup against Broner should be a decent affair.
In the second bout of the televised card, the always exciting Lucas Matthysse, 35-3 (33 KOs) takes on hard hitting Roberto Ortiz, 31-0-1 (24 KOs). Anytime Lucas Matthysse gets in the ring there are fireworks, and even though Ortiz is unknown, he can punch… which produces the recipe for an explosive fight. Matthysse has been down three times in his last 2, but in his last bout came back to knockout John Molina, so the matchup against Roberto Ortiz will be an interesting one.
To start off the night, Andre Berto, 28-3 (22 KOs) will look to rebound following a string of setbacks. It has been a rough time for Berto as in his previous 4 fights, Berto is 1-3, tested positive for a banned substance, and had to undergo surgery on his right shoulder. It has been 13 months since he was last in the ring, where he suffered a shoulder injury against Soto Karass and lost by 12th round TKO. Despite his limitations Andre Berto is an explosive fighter with a lot of heart and is always in exciting fights. His opponent, Steven Upsher Chambers 24-3 (6 KOs) will look to spoil the opportunity. It should be an exciting fight to start off an explosive night of boxing.by
