Timothy Bradley is once again a world champion after being elevated by the World Boxing Organisation.
The 31-year-old, from Palm Springs, was handed the vacant title after winning the interim crown last month.
Bradley, who made seven defences of the belt before losing it at the hands of Manny Pacquiao last April, beat previously unbeaten Jessie Vargas at the StubHub Center in Carson, California to get him back on his way to being world champion material.
And a world champion he is once more. The WBO moved him up a spot, basically, after they stripped Floyd Mayweather of the belt in the aftermath of his May extravaganza against the aforementioned Filipino superstar Pacquiao, who is currently in rehab after a shoulder injury.
The talk now is that ‘Desert Storm’ could put his newly-acquired silverware on the line against Brandon Rios in an all-Southern California showdown, with the clash being earmarked for November 7 and The Forum in Inglewood being touted as a possible venue.by
