Chocolatito To Defend Against Viloria At MSG

Román González has had his next foe confirmed for his next world title defence.

The unbeaten flyweight will go up against Brian Viloria in a defence of the green and gold WBC belt.

González will face the former WBA Super and WBO champion at Madison Square Garden in New York.

‘Chocolatito’ impressed last time out when he ousted challenger Edgar Sosa inside two rounds in California, while the 34-year-old America native got the call after icing Omar Soto inside a round last month.

The clash, which is set for October 17, will take place on the undercard of the middleweight unification scrap between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux.

Viloria was at first just one name in the hat to face the 43-0 (37) forgotten man –– alongside 33-year-old former light flyweight champion Giovani Segura (32-4-1, 28KOs), of Mexico, and Puerto Rican contender McWilliams Arroyo –– but after he got the nod he took to social media to confirm the fight.

Elsewhere, heavyweight banger Luis Ortiz is also set for action on the bill, with further fights to be announced in due course.
