Nathan Cleverly will challenge for a world title later this year.
The Cefn Forest fighter, who has been inactive since a split decision loss to Liverpool cruiserweight Tony Bellew in November, will face Jürgen Brähmer in September.
The clash for the WBA light heavyweight belt, tentatively set for a venue in Germany, has been agreed upon between both fighters and their promotional teams, but official confirmation will not come until the beginning of June at the earliest.
This is because Welshman Cleverly will appear, back down at 175lbs, on May 30 at London’s O2 Arena, live on Sky Sports Box Office against an opponent to be named.
“Terms have been agreed,” Cleverly told BBC Radio Wales Sport regarding a potential showdown with the 36-year-old southpaw.
‘Clev’, 28, continued to say: “It’s just a matter of me getting this next fight out of the way and then we are going to make an announcement.”by
