Cotto-Canelo Set For November In LA

By Elliot Foster (@FreelanceFoz)

Miguel Cotto will defend his world title against former global ruler Saul Alvarez in the autumn.

The 34-year-old, who holds the WBC title at middleweight, is set to come up against the Mexican at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Cotto will be back in the ring again on November 21, just over five months after retaining his belt with a stoppage of Daniel Geale.

His next foe, ‘Canelo’, held the same green and gold title at 154lbs before his loss to Floyd Mayweather in September, 2013.

But since then, the 25-year-old has added three wins to his 45-1-1 (32) record and will have to get up to the catchweight of 11-stone one-pound for his next contest.
