Eubank Jr-O’Sullivan Clash Set As WBA Final Eliminator

By Elliot Foster (@FreelanceFoz)

As if the grudge match wasn’t enough, it now has even more meaning.

Chris Eubank Jr. can now focus, full steam ahead, on his next fight after demolishing Tony Jeter inside two rounds at Sheffield Arena, live on Sky Sports.

The second generation middleweight, 26, moved to 20-1 (15) with his stoppage of the 39-year-old American, but now has a much tougher test on his hands before the end of the year.

Eubank Jr. will face Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan –– who has already signed the bout contract –– on December 12 at London’s O2 Arena in what has now been confirmed as a final eliminator for the WBA title, which will be contested on December 5 by holder Danny Jacobs and challenger Peter Quillin.

Elsewhere, WBC International lightweight champion Luke Campbell will box for the first time since claiming local bragging rights in August when he stopped local rival Tommy Coyle.

And he will be joined by Liverpool cruiserweight Tony Bellew, who wants a big fight as he continues his campaign for a shot at a third world title.

Meanwhile, Kevin Mitchell will be in action on the card after recovering from an eye injury.

The Dagenham lightweight, who was stopped by Jorge Linares in a challenge for the Venezuelan’s WBC strap back in May, will be hoping to get a big win under his belt before stepping on the gas towards another world title shot.

Tickets for the highly anticipated bill-topper between Joshua and Whyte, which is to be flanked by a star-studded undercard, sold-out in six hours, but there are still limited tickets remaining at
