Matty Fagan could be one fight away from a title bout with a win in his next pro outing.
The lightweight is set to top the bill at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village on July 25 in an eliminator for the English belt.
Fagan, 27, has a record of 7-1 and will come up against Newark’s Adam Kettleborough (8-1), while being joined at the newly-refurbished sports centre by gym-mates Ciaran McVarnock and Mason Cartwright.
Cartwright is undefeated in three –– all of which he has won on points –– and will box over six rounds for the first time when he takes on Faheem Khan.
Elsewhere, Scouse light heavyweight Ryan Vaughan, English cruiserweight champion Matty Askin, undefeated Wigan man Davey Price, Leicester super featherweight Leon Woodstock and Wrexham’s Kerry Evans are also expected to feature on the bill.
But English bantamweight champion Ryan Farrag, who was originally due to feature on the bill in a routine tick-over job, has now withdrawn from the card after being handed a golden opportunity to fight for the European title.
Tickets for the event, priced at £40 and £60 (ringside), are available to purchase from longshotssports.com.by
