FirstClassBoxing Team Give Their Predictions for Frampton Vs. Quigg

Quigg & Frampton will finally meet in a clash that has been four years in the making

It’s been almost four years in the making, but it is finally upon us. Carl Frampton will finally meet his rival Scott Quigg at the Manchester Arena, in an IBF and WBA unification bout. This fight has had boxing pundits and fans talking from the day it was announced. It seems that whoever you talk to, it’s a real 50/50 fight.

From the beginning when this fight was first talked about, I have always said Frampton would win fairly comfortably… Now that the fight is upon is my opinion hasn’t changed. Frampton for me is a better boxer and will use his superior boxing skills to win a very entertaining points victory.

Prediction: Frampton Unanimous Decision

Dallas Orysiuk (@Chargers204)

Carl Frampton versus Scott Quigg should be a good entertaining matchup. Frampton is the slight favorite and I think the fight will play out like the odds. It’ll be a good, close and entertaining fight, but I think Frampton will pull through on the cards. Frampton’s skill will be the deciding factor for a closely fought unanimous decision.

Prediction: Frampton Unanimous Decision

It’s very rare to see a unification fight where literally no result would particularly surprise me. They both share the same name as their best win so it’s difficult to use previous victories as a means of prediction too, so we have to analyse this heuristically. I think Frampton holds the better technique and a more varied punch selection, whereas Quigg appears to be the stronger of the two. I do think Frampton now struggles with the weight though, so that combined with Quigg’s body work calls for a late Quigg stoppage from me.

Prediction: Quigg Stoppage

Yousuf Ali (@boxingubanter)

This is clearly a very evenly matched fight, hence the great excitement and anticipation. Despite the fight being extremely close I feel that Scott Quigg will stop Carl Frampton in the middle rounds. I see Frampton winning the first three rounds, with Quigg doing damage to the body. A systematic breakdown will take place with Quigg simply being too much for Frampton, the punching power and relentless style coupled with Frampton’s chin issues will lead to Quigg earning a seventh round stoppage victory.

Prediction: Quigg Stoppage
