It is thought that George Groves has split from trainer Adam Booth, ahead of the biggest fight of his career against Carl Froch.
Groves is just over two months away from his Super-Middleweight world title clash against Carl Froch. So the timing of the split couldn’t be worse.
The Head is Sky Sports boxing, Adam Smith had this to say. “The word that we are hearing is that there may have been a split between George and his long-time trainer Adam Booth, which obviously is a huge piece of news if its true.”
Booth who has been in Groves’ corner since 2008, and was in his corner for his impressive win against arch-rival James DeGale. Losing Booth might just turn out to be a disaster for Groves, as Booth has a great boxing brain and is tactically gifted, which was shown in the fight against DeGale, and in David Haye’s fight with Russian giant Nikolay Valuez.
If this is true, then it means Groves must find someone new to be in his corner and quickly. He is just two months away from his crucial world title fight with Carl Froch, for the WBA and IBF Super-Middleweight titles, live on Sky Box Office.by
