Gavin McDonnell finally has a settled venue for his next fight after two site changes.
The Doncaster super bantamweight will defend his European title, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
McDonnell, who was set to face Jeremy Parodi in Hull last month before his clash was moved to Leeds and scheduled for September, will now put the silverware on the line against the Frenchman at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena after winning the vacant crown against Oleksandr Yegorov in March.
‘Mac’ junior was replaced at the First Direct Arena by super middleweight Martin Murray, who won his first 168-pound title on the bill, and will now box ex-Carl Frampton victim Parodi on October 24.
Elsewhere, lightweight contender Ricky Burns will return to title action on the bill when he challenges Edis Tatli for the European belt.
The Scottish former two-time world champion will come up against the 28-year-old Finn — who won the vacant title in Helsinki in April — on the back of a controversial Stateside defeat to Omar Figueroa Jr. and a stoppage victory over Prince Ofotsu in Hull last month.
Tatli, whose nickname is ‘Prince’, has an impressive record of 25-1 (8), with his only blemish coming in a world title fight against former WBA 135-pound king Richar Abril.
Burns, who is 32 and from Coatbridge, heads into the fight with a ledger of 38-5-1 (12).
And Josh Wale will come up against Leigh Wood in a British featherweight title eliminator.
The clashes will make up part of the undercard for Kell Brook’s next IBF welterweight title defence against Diego Chaves, which will be flanked on pay-per-view by the world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and WBA, WBO, IBO & IBF kingpin Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf, Germany.
