Jamie McDonnell will pack his bags for the second time in six months to defend his world title.
The Doncaster bantamweight, who scored an heroic decision in Texas in May to retain the WBA title, will once again travel to the rodeo state to make his third defence at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi.
McDonnell beat former WBO ruler Tomoki Kameda earlier this year and will face the Japanese again on September 6 as part of Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions.
The rematch will be aired live on Sky Sports in the UK and CBS Sports in the States
Elsewhere, Anthony Dirrell will face Marco Antonio Rubio in his first outing since losing the WBC super middleweight title to Badou Jack in Chicago in April.by
