Tommy Martin has signed a managerial deal with Daniel Kinahan and MGM Marbella.
The 21-year-old Chelmsford-based super lightweight is currently out of the ring having won yet another title only nine days ago, but has committed his future to the Spain-based outfit in a bid to further his opportunities in the pro game.
Martin, who is the WBA Continental champion in his division, is undefeated in 13 outings and stopped Michael Devine to win the aforementioned belt at London’s O2 Arena.
In joining Kinahan and MGM, Martin is added to a roster which features Liverpool lightweight duo Derry Mathews and Thomas Stalker, Everton Red Triangle quartet Kevin Satchell, Ryan Farrag, Steven Lewis and Jazza Dickens as well as future world title challenger Liam Smith among others.
“It is an absolute honour and privilege to be joining the MGM team,” said Martin.
“What MGM management do for their fighters is second to none. After visiting MGM for my last training camp, I saw the set up and knew I wanted to be a part of it.”
Martin made history earlier this year when he became the youngest man to win the English title when he beat favourite Ricky Boylan on points on a bill, which was known as ‘Capital Punishment’, aired live and exclusively on Sky Sports Box Office.
The Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport-promoted man is expected to return to the ring in December.
He continued: “I am very excited about our journey together and honestly believe with their help together we can go all the way. And like they say, you only get one career, so why not have it in sunny Marbella?”
Adding to the ever-growing list of talents with yet another signing is becoming familiar practice for the management team in Puerto Banús and they are excited about their latest recruit.
They said: “We are excited to have Tommy joining the team, his attitude and enthusiasm will get him far but more than that his natural talent has already shone through and we believe we can help him go the distance.”by
