Anthony Ogogo has inked a co-promotional link-up with Europe’s biggest promotional outfit.
The Olympic bronze medallist is unbeaten in seven and will now work alongside Team Sauerland.
Ogogo, who was signed by Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy after ending his association with Team GB after the 2012 Olympics in London, has been out of action since stopping Wayne Reed last July.
But he will return to the ring on July 18, live and exclusive on Sky Sports, on the undercard of Arthur Abraham’s WBO super middleweight title defence against Robert Stieglitz –– at the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany –– as he looks to make an immediate impact on the middleweight division.
He made a promising start to his professional journey, fighting on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather against Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in the US, but a series of injuries have plagued the 26-year-old’s development and he will now be looking to push on and build his profile not only in the UK or Stateside but in Europe and worldwide too.
“I am incredibly excited by this new partnership and cannot wait to get back in the ring,” said Ogogo.
“I feel privileged to have two of the best promoters in world boxing backing me.
“Kalle and Nisse Sauerland are two of the best promoters in the sport and their enthusiasm to help get me to the very top in the sport has been overwhelming,” Ogogo ended.
The Lowestoft fighter also thanked current representatives Golden Boy and Oscar De La Hoya for the support shown to him, calling it “amazing” and saying that he “can’t wait to repay the faith.”
