Cyclone Promotions are delighted announce the signing of the hugely talented Lee McGregor, who will make his professional debut on the undercard of ‘Risk vs Reward’ – Josh Taylor vs Miguel Vazquez, at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on Saturday November 11th, live and exclusive on SPIKE TV, sponsored by Maxi-Nutrition, Ladbrokes and Voltarol.

Twenty-year old Lee McGregor has turned professional with Cyclone Promotions and will be based in Wandsworth, London at McGuigan Gym under the tutelage of renowned coach Shane McGuigan, training alongside the likes of WBA World super middleweight champion George Groves, WBC Silver super lightweight champion Josh Taylor, and rising stars Chantelle Cameron and Chris Billam-Smith. McGregor will be managed by Hall of Famer and former WBA World featherweight king Barry McGuigan.

Edinburgh’s big-punching bantamweight Lee McGregor has been setting the amateur boxing scene alight with his rapid rise up through the ranks. The GB Senior bantamweight (56kg) champion has produced a number of scintillating performances in the unpaid ranks. Those performances caught the eye of many within the boxing industry and convinced his new manager Barry McGuigan that he had seen the birth of a future star of the sport.

“I heard that there was a very good kid coming through (the amateur ranks) that was doing great things,” said McGuigan. “I love Lee’s attacking style and the fact that he attacks with intelligence. I believe Lee can become a world champion. What excites me about him is that Lee is five feet eight inches tall, loves to learn and can go up through the weight divisions. Lee McGregor is going to be a huge star of Scottish boxing.”

On November 11th at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, Edinburgh, the undefeated Josh Taylor truly steps onto the world stage when he takes on Mexico’s former long-reigning IBF world lightweight champion. The electric Taylor is in his biggest test to date as a professional on November 11th and will be looking to continue his incredible run of victories, fresh from a career-best performance against the previously undefeated Ohara Davies in July.

The huge Ingliston bill also sees Edinburgh’s undefeated IBO Inter-Continental super lightweight champion Jason Easton defend his belt against unbeaten Czech champion Josef Zahradnik. Fellow undefeated Cyclone stablemate Martin Bakole boxes in his first title fight against Belgium’s undefeated Ali Baghouz for the vacant IBO Continental heavyweight championship. Northampton’s unbeaten prospect Chantelle Cameron continues her rapid rise when she squares off against Mexico’s Edith Ramos for the vacant IBO Inter-Continental super featherweight title in just her fourth contest as a professional. Cyclone’s exciting cruiserweight prospect Chris Billam-Smith faces Czech road warrior Jan Hrazdira in a four-round contest.

There are a host of other local talent featuring on this massive night of championship boxing on November 11th including Edinburgh’s popular middleweight Iain Trotter, who boxes Poland’s Leopold Krzeszewski in a four-round contest, Glasgow’s unbeaten Craig MacIntyre, who faces the Czech Republic’s experienced Michal Vosyka over four-rounds at welterweight. Uddingston’s unbeaten WBC Youth Silver super welterweight champ Michael McGurk takes on Poland’s Filip Rzadek in a six-round contest, while former amateur star Aston Brown boxes the Czech Republic’s Martin Kabrhel in a four-round middleweight contest.

Lee McGregor’s opponent for his professional debut on November 11th at the Royal Highland Centre will be announced shortly.
