Miles Shinkwin has been handed the job of headlining a show on Saturday.
The 27-year-old undefeated light heavyweight, from Bushey in Hertfordshire, was elevated to top-of-the-bill for his next fight at Harrow Leisure Centre after Jamie Cox’s first defence of the WBO European super middleweight title against Ferenc Albert was pushed back.
Shinkwin, 11-0 (5), will face little known Daniel Bilisanszki on October 30 in a 10-round international contest, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky channel 437/HD 490, Virgin channel 546 and TalkTalk channel 415).
It’ll be Shinkwin’s first outing since his June showcase at York Hall in which he stopped Bela Juhasz inside three rounds, but it’s certainly a step down from his scheduled challenge for the English light heavyweight title against Travis Dickinson, which was canned after the champion pulled out through illness.
Bilisanszki, a Hungarian southpaw, is 19, has the nickname ‘Canelo’, comes to the UK with a record of 8-1-1 (4) and has won his past two outings by stoppage.
Elsewhere in Harrow, a host of young prospects, including flyweight Prince Patel, super welterweight Georgie Kean as well as Sam McNess, Archie Sharp, Anthony Yarde, will also feature, while there are professional debuts scheduled for West Ham-based light welterweight Ben Smith and Sidcup 140lber DP Carr, while Jez Smith makes his debut under new promoter Frank Warren.
But Tom Baker, who was set to contest the vacant Southern Area light heavyweight title against Margate’s Jack Morris, will not feature after his withdrawal due to a viral infection.
Tickets, priced at £45 (unreserved), £65 (ringside) or £100 (VIP), are on sale now via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.co.uk or by phone on 08448 440444.
