Rod Stewart has been handed the task of warming up the crowd ahead of a fight in Germany.
The Commander of the British Empire, who has won both BRIT & Grammy awards in his time as a performer, will sing to the masses at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf.
Stewart is set to get things going ahead of the world heavyweight title clash between Wladimir Klitschko and unbeaten challenger Tyson Fury on October 24.
Presented by RTL Television, the 70-year-old’s showing will be aired to more than 150 countries around the globe and will attract over 100 million viewers.
It will coincide with the worldwide release of ‘Another Country’, his new studio album, which is out the day before the prize fight on October 23.
“I’m excited and honoured to be a part of this historical boxing match,” said Stewart, “and [I] look forward to performing for the fans in Germany and around the world.
“I’ll warm-up the stage for Wladimir and Tyson –– but keep your gloves off until I’ve cleared out.”by
